Thankful Tuesday

Expressing gratefulness and being thankful is good for our emotional, physical and mental well being. It helps in reducing depression, lower blood pressure, increase energy and joy, prolonging your life! Gratitude increases the feel-good neurotransmitters dopamine and serotonin, and helps prevent those negative thoughts. Take time to celebrate your accomplishments no matter how big or small they are; do small acts of kindness, and don't sweat the small stuffs - pick your battles carefully. No matter the situation you are in, whether you've lost your job, your relationship, your finances etc. It is hard and it can be challenging. I can only imagine how difficult it must be to move ahead. It can even feel hopeless but don't give up yet, it ain't over until the fat lady sings! Rest if you must but don't quit. Here are some quotes I'd like to share on thankfulness:

  • "Be thankful for what you have; you'll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don't have, you will never, ever have enough." -Oprah Winfrey

  • "If the only prayer you ever say in your entire life is thank you, it will be enough." -Meister Eckhart

  • "We would worry less if we praised more. Thanksgiving is the enemy of discontent and dissatisfaction." -H.A. Ironside

  • "Develop an attitude of gratitude, and give thanks for everything that happens to you, knowing that every step forward is a step toward achieving something bigger and better than your current situation." -Brian Tracy

  • "At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us." -Albert Schweitzer

  • "Acknowledging the good that you already have in your life is the foundation for all abundance." -Eckhart Tolle

  • "Some people are always grumbling because roses have thorns; I am thankful that thorns have roses." -Alphonse Karr

Today, I am thankful that I have the ability and freedom to write, have a roof over my head, for supportive family and friends, the little pleasures in life - coffee and sweets, the sunshine and more. What are you thankful for today? Feel free to share them in the comments box.

Shalom and blessings to each of you, xxx
